FREE community event for singles moms!
For the second year in a row the Transforme staff put together this wonderful event called “Queens Closet” for single mothers and we’re feeling so grateful for the outcome and the support we received from our community!
Queens closet was held at the Transforme office in San Ysidro on July 25th, however, with everything going on this year we had to do things differently this time. We decided to do a drive-thru event with the whole team and attendees while cautiously following all the new regulations in order to keep everyone safe.
We had our staff outside our office handing out bags of clothes (new outfits), women accessories, groceries, bottles of water, tickets for free haircuts, 20-50% discounts for hair styles, nails and pedicures. We also collaborated with Susan G Komen for free cervical cancer and mammograms appointments. As women drove through smiling behind their face masks!
Even though we had many activities planned out for this event that we weren’t able to do due to the pandemic, the event was still a success and we’re so happy with the outcome.
We’re feeling so blessed and so grateful for everyone who came out to support us, covid-19 couldn’t stop us! But we’re mostly grateful for having the opportunity of giving back to our community; to all the single mothers out there, know that you’re seen and valued, we’re very thankful for you and we truly admire all the hard work you’re doing!
Lastly, we want to give a very special shoutout to all the organizations and local businesses who donated, Studio 72, ByGrace Hair, Pamela & Oyuki, Cynthia Moravec, Kairos beauty salon, Every woman counts org., Ph Labs, City View Church, Comedor de ninos L.M.D.T and Getsemani.
